I am an economic historian working mostly on agricultural history and the economic history of Denmark. I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Copenhagen in 2009 under the supervision of the late, great Karl Gunnar Persson. I also have a BA(Hons) in History from King’s College, London (1998).
From 2014 have been a CAGE Research Associate and from 2015 I have been a CEPR Research Fellow. Since 2014 I have also been an elected member of the Danish Society for Agricultural History (Landbohistorisk selskab)
Since 2014 I have been Chair of the Danish Society for Economic and Social History and since 2018 I am president of the Scandinavian Society for Economic and Social History. From 2017-21 I will serve as the Economic History Association’s Liaison Officer with the International Economic History Association.
Apart from refereeing for a large number of journals, since 2014 I have been editor of the European Historical Economics Society’s Working Paper series and from 2015 I have been on the editorial board of Cliometrica. From 2017 I have been an editor of the Scandinavian Economic History Review and since 2018 I have been senior editor for “Economic History” for the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Economics and Finance.
